What it covers

Every race on the City’s certified candidate list: Mayor, Regional and Local Councillor, the six ward councillors and the school-board trustees. Acclaimed candidates are included and marked as acclaimed.

For each candidate you can read what they say and open the source. For sitting council members you can also see how they voted. You do not need an account.

Who makes it

SimpleVision.AI, a Richmond Hill web design business, built and publishes the guide. The footer credit links to the business. Candidate and comparison pages carry no sales content.

The guide uses no City logos and has no official status. For official election information, use the City’s pages.

How candidates are treated

Every certified candidate appears on the same card with the same fields. The current office holder comes first, then everyone else by surname. We check the same sources for every candidate.

What a candidate says is shown in their own words or a plain summary, linked to where they said it. A named vote appears only when official minutes record it. News and opinion are labelled and kept apart.

If we found nothing, the card says what we checked and where. There are no endorsements, rankings, scores, polls or voting advice, and no accounts or trackers; see Privacy.

Why this is not election advertising

Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act counts something as third-party advertising when its purpose is to support or oppose a candidate, or a “yes” or “no” answer on a ballot question. The guide does neither. It does have small costs, a domain and hosting, so it does not rely on the no-cost exception. This is the publisher’s reading of the Act, not legal advice.
